Universal leak testing machine
Semi-automatic end-of-line test equipment for pressure testing of multiple automotive product types. The ATEQ testers are complemented by Siemens control and sensor-monitored reject handling.
Task and implementation
Precision pressure testing had to be set up for multiple product types. Besides the test itself, non-conforming parts had to be handled unambiguously so that the product path after classification could also be verified.
We built a semi-automatic end-of-line testing machine with ATEQ testers. The Siemens control system coordinates the test sequence, and sensor monitoring supports the handling of non-conforming, i.e. reject, parts. The machine was built to test multiple product types.
The path of a defective part is part of the test
After classification by the ATEQ testers, sensors monitor the handling of non-conforming parts. Beyond pressure testing, the machine therefore also coordinates reject handling with the test sequence. For a station used for multiple product types, the engineering task lies in defining the sealing, the test recipe and the limit values for each product.
