3. Cookies
Beyond what is strictly necessary for the site to work, we load visitor-statistics tools (Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics) only with your prior consent. You can withdraw consent at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage and is not transmitted.
We measure visits with Umami, an open-source statistics tool that we host ourselves. Umami uses no cookies and stores nothing in your browser; it does not record IP addresses and processes visits only in anonymous, aggregated form (page viewed, referring page, browser and device type, country). The data stays on our own server in the European Union and is not passed on to third parties. The purpose is to improve the website; the legal basis is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). For some visits an anonymous session recording and heatmap may also be created (mouse movement, clicks, scrolling) so we can see what makes the site hard to use; anything typed into forms is masked in the recording.
4. YouTube videos
The website links to videos on our YouTube channel. Preview images are served from our own server; Google (YouTube) only receives data if you click a video and go to YouTube, where Google's privacy policy applies.
