Plastics
Assembly, welding and inspection machine
A machine linking six operations, with in-house developed hot-plate welding. Welding is followed by pressure testing, inkjet marking and final inspection.

Task and implementation
Six consecutive operations had to be coordinated in a single compact machine for the plastics industry. Besides assembly, the task also included developing the welding technology and the associated inspections.
The machine combines an operator loading/unloading position, hot-plate preheating, welding, pressure testing, inkjet labelling and final inspection. We developed the hot-plate welding technology entirely in-house. The Omron control system coordinates the interdependent operations.
Welding is directly followed by leak-tightness testing
After hot-plate preheating and welding, pressure testing, inkjet marking and final inspection take place in the same machine. The product does not have to be moved to another machine for each operation. The in-house developed welding technology fits into the complete six-step process, and the Omron control system coordinates the stations.
