SCARA robot camera inspection station
Camera inspection station tended by a SCARA robot for geometric dimension checks and surface quality inspection, with high-resolution image processing.

Task and implementation
The task was to create an automated inspection station capable of checking the geometric dimensions and surface quality of the product at a stable cycle time.
A SCARA robot arm positions the part under test in front of the high-resolution camera system, so the measurement positions are precisely repeatable. The image processing system evaluates the geometric features and surface defects in real time, supporting a reduction in the reject rate and continuous quality assurance.
Automated inspection with precise robot positioning
The combination of the SCARA robot and the high-resolution camera system enables fast, repeatable and objective quality inspection. The solution reduces the variation that comes with manual inspection, while fitting well into a series production environment.
Technology
- Part handling and precise positioning by SCARA robot
- Image processing with a high-resolution camera system
- Geometric dimension inspection with automated evaluation
- Detection of surface defects and quality deviations
- Production line integration and real-time quality feedback
